Aerin Lauder—Estée Lauder's senior vice president and creative director, and its founder's granddaughter—has announced plans to start up her own fashion and lifestyle brand with a very interesting dream team. Lauder hopes to be "the next
Tory Burch" and has recruited Anna Wintour as an advisor and NBC's Jeff Zucker as a consultant. She's also bring on White House deputy social secretary Ebs Burnough, who up and quit his job for the gig, telling colleagues via email last Friday that it would be his "last day at the White House."
The brand will also include accessories, housewares, and jewelry, some of which will be based off of her grandmother's private collection.
According to a spokesperson for Estée Lauder, Aerin will continue to hold a senior creative role for the company and remain on the board of directors. And she won't be moving too far, either—the new headquarters are rumored to be on East 57th Street, in the same building as Tom Ford, and just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Estée Lauder.
